The tasteful journey has started in 1907 with Haci Mustafa Serdar Efendi, who came to Diyarbakir from Damascus and transferred his knowledge and mastery of kadayif to Muhammed Bey, as it started to touch people’s lives with the kadayif factory (workhouse/workshop) which was established near the trade and life center of the era, Dört Ayakli Minare.
When Muhammed Bey could not return home from the Yemen War in 1911, his son Hasan Altunhan had moved his father’s legacy to the district of Melih Ahmet. The biggest supporter of Hasan Altunhan was Haci Levent Altunhan, who has given the brand its name.
This tasteful journey had continued without interruption for three generations until it was paused for 11 years after the second world war. After returning to work with his father in 1950s, Haci Levent Altunhan has retired as 3 brothers from the fourth generation of the family; Haci Adnan, Haci Ahmet and Murat had taken over the family legacy.
The fifth generation of the brand ‘Haci Levent’ which has come to this day with the bringing of Haci Adnan and Murat, expanded its production range and increased its capacity by systematic production as it promised new routes to this journey with a completely different touch to the brand. Halef; with a taste that definitely satisfies both milk-based dessert lovers and ‘sherbet’ lovers, carries the young and alternative new face of salafi Kadayifci Haci Levent, which continues this journey for 113 years, to Istanbul, Tesvikiye.
